NBA Game of the Week: Thunder at Warriors
I’ve used this exact game before, and it did not disappoint. Last year the Warriors won all four meetings by an average of I think 25 points. This year, OKC have handed it to Golden State twice. In my opinion, this is a must win for the Warriors, who will get to play with their home crowd behind them at Oracle Arena. The beginning of the year had Golden State as the heavy favorites for another run to the NBA finals. So far they’ve looked very vulnerable, and need to use this game to make a statement. OKC has been looking strong in this match-up with the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. Can they take the Warriors down a third consecutive time? Find out Saturday, February 25th at 8: 30 pm on ABC.
NHL Game of the Week: Sharks at Predators
The NHL Game of the Week features two Western Conference powerhouses: the San Jose Sharks and the Nashville Predators. These two teams are putting together great seasons, as is expected, and are 4th and 2nd in the Western Conference, respectively. For you NHL fans out there, you can expect a great game, whether it be an offensive onslaught from two high scoring offenses, or a goalie duel between two of the best in the NHL. Personally, being born in San Jose and with both goalies on my fantasy team, I’ll be watching this game on the edge of my seat. Tune in to NBC Sports at 8 pm on Thursday, February 22nd.
Premier League Game of the Week: Chelsea at Manchester United
While there are some solid match-ups this week in the Barclay’s Premier League, the game of the week is no question Chelsea versus Manchester United. One of the oldest rivalries in English soccer, this game will be a cracker from start to finish. Jose Mourinho is one of the most decorated coaches of all time, and spent two runs at Chelsea before ending up as the coach of Manchester United. United’s top forward, Romelu Lukaku, also spent time at Chelsea, which should give him a bit more motivation to produce against his former club. Manchester United currently sit at 2nd in the table, and Chelsea at 4th, but are separated by just 3 points, meaning Chelsea could come level with Man U with a win. Tune in to NBC Sports at 9 am on Sunday, February 25th.
Recommendation of the Week: Annihilation
This week’s movie recommendation is Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman. In the film, a group of soldiers enter into an environmental disaster zone, where only one returns alive. Lena (Portman), a biologist and wife of the only returning survivor, volunteers for a second expedition into the disaster zone to discover what went wrong, and whether or not she can save her husband’s life. I’m a big Portman fan, and think this movie looks like it will be a solid, drama-filled adventure. Annihilation is rated R, so viewer discretion is obviously advised.
