NBA Game of the Week: Raptors at Wizards
I’m not sure what the series will be when game 6 arrives on Friday. One of these teams will obviously be up 3-2, but either way this game will be exciting. This 1 versus 8 match-up is a great one (tied at 2-2 so far), because the East is pretty close top to bottom. The Raptors aren’t that strong of a 1 seed, and the Wizards with John Wall back are a great number 8 seed. The Wizards are something like 8-0 in their last 8 home games, so game 6 at home could mean a real chance to close out an upset if they steal one in Toronto. If they’re down, they’ll have a huge crowd hyped up to watch them tie the series at 3-3. Game time is TBD, so I’ll make sure to announce on my Instagram once I see the game time decided on Friday, April 27th.
Premier League Game of the Week: Arsenal at Manchester United
If you’re into Premier League soccer, you’ve heard that Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, who has managed Arsenal since 1996 (22 years), has revealed that he will retire after this season. His presence at the club has been fairly controversial for the last few years because of Arsenal’s inability to take their club success to the top level. Regardless, Wenger has been synonymous with Arsenal for some time, and it will certainly be odd to watch Arsenal without Wenger’s long zip-up down jacket on the sideline. This weekend Wenger will have his last go at Manchester United’s famous Old Trafford stadium, and I’m sure his team will want to have a successful last bout there. NHL Game of the Week: Capitals at Blue Jackets
Game 6 of this series takes place in Columbus with Washington up in the series 3-2. Columbus is a scrappy team that has the tendency to be a bit inconsistent, but will be in front of their home crowd, and no one wants to be eliminated from the playoffs in front of their fans. I expect the Blue Jackets to start this game firing on all cylinders with a ton of energy with the goal of taking an early lead and putting the Capitals on their heels for the whole game. The Caps on the other hand are on a mission to finally reach that next level, with captain Alexander Ovechkin primed to make a push to get his first Stanley Cup. Expect a fun game with a lot of goals. Tune in to CNBC at 7:30 pm on Monday, April 23rd.
MLB Game of the Week: Cubs at Indians
A battle between World Series participants of 2016, in a year that we forget the Indians blew a 3-1 lead just like the Warriors did to the other Cleveland Championship contender that year. Enjoy that free pass Cleveland Indians. Anyway, two good teams going up against one another. Jon Lester pitching against Trevor Bauer. Should be solid. Tune in to ESPN at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25th.
Movie recommendation of the Week: Avengers: Infinity War
There is literally no debate whatsoever concerning the movie recommendation for this week. For those like myself that have been obsessed with the Marvel universe since Iron Man in 2008, Avengers: Infinity War is going to be amazing. I’m not going to list all of the actors/super heroes headlining this movie, because I’ll probably develop carpel tunnel syndrome halfway through that list. Thanos is coming to Earth with another huge alien army to take on all of our favorite superheroes. We’re talking great action. We’re talking classic Marvel banter. If you’re caught up on everything from Iron Man to Black Panther, get to the theater this weekend.
