NFL Game of the Week: Bills at Patriots
The Bills are one of the biggest surprises of the NFL this season. I’d estimate 99% of the country is all for this, as most of us have grown to love those crazy Buffalo fans, and are excited that they actually have a reason to partake in their dangerous celebratory antics. At 10-4 they are right behind the 11-3 Patriots, who have faced a lot of criticism despite their record. A win for the Bills would obviously tie the Patriots for the AFC East lead, and give them a chance to turn their playoff position into a potential first round bye. I’m sure they and their fans would love to have at least one home game in the playoffs. Tune in Saturday at 4:30 for this one.

NBA Game of the Week: Celtics at Mavericks
Third in the East meets third in the west. Both the Celtics and Mavericks are putting together a solid campaign this year, and are probably both outperforming initial projections on where they would be this season. Luka Doncic is among the front runners for MVP, and I believe is the most fun player to watch in the NBA right now. Doncic is averaging almost 30 points per game while also averaging 8.9 assists and 9.6 rebounds. He also has 8 triple doubles, the most in the NBA. This will be a fun matchup between two teams that play solid team basketball. Watch Wednesday at 9:30 pm on ESPN to see this clash.

NHL Game of the Week: Islanders at Bruins
Looks like I’m just doing all Boston/New England sports this week. The Islanders and Bruins are respectively 3rd and 2nd in the Eastern Conference at the time of this article. The Islanders actually have 3 games in hand as well so could technically be better if they had played the same amount of games. Regardless, both will look to keep rising in the conference and will want to put out a solid performance. I like the goaltender matchup here. In what has to be fairly unprecedented, both the starter and the backup of both of these teams are in the top 10 in Goals Against Average. While I’m usually hoping for goals in these game of the week picks, I’m pulling for a goalie duel, maybe even a shutout for one side. Tune in on Thursday at 7:00 for this game.

Premier League Game of the Week: Leicester City at Manchester City
I don’t like this game. Yes I think it will be a great game between two solid teams, but as a vocal Liverpool hater I don’t like that the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the Premier league have to play each other, since it means that one of them will drop points. That disappointment aside, I’m excited about this matchup. Leicester has come alive once again and is looking on continuing their great form in Manchester this weekend. Jamie Vardy is the top scorer in the Premier League so I’m hoping to see him put one or two away. Manchester City on paper are one of the most talented teams in Europe (and highest paid), so I see this game as a resurgence opportunity for them to make a run at Liverpool for the rest of the season. Tune in Saturday at 12:30 pm for this game.

Movie Recommendation: Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker
I’m recommending for everyone to go see the final installment of this third Star Wars trilogy for two reasons. First, if you’re a child or a delusional Star Wars fan, you’ll love it and it will be a great culmination of the franchise. Second, if you’re an old school Star Wars fan or a fan of good movies, you can get this over with and move on with your life. It sounds harsh but I’m one of the easiest to please movie fans out there, and even I find myself cringing in these films. Between using the same plot over and over again, horrible characters that make me want to rip my ears off, and a main character that goes from scavenger to the most capable person in the universe in five minutes with zero training, I just need these to be done. I’ve always been a fan of the prequel trilogy despite their criticisms (bad CGI aside they’re good movies prove me wrong!), but I know plenty of critics of the prequels that will say that these new movies make the prequels look Oscar-worthy. By now I’m sure you’re ready to buy your ticket so go ahead, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in theaters Friday, December 20th.
