NBA: Warriors at Blazers
Steph Curry and Damian Lillard are, in my opinion, the two most exciting point guards to watch in the NBA. They have unlimited range, great handles, and are the undoubted leaders of their teams. They also have a history of both a bit of chippiness, but also some great respect. For all these reasons, I expect the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trailblazer matchup this week to be a great one. I’m hoping for some comically deep threes, a well contested game from start to finish, and hopefully some 30 plus point games from both Curry and Lillard. Both the Warriors and Blazers are playoff contenders as of now, with the Warriors currently 8th in the western conference, and the Blazers in 5th. Tune in for this one on Wednesday, March 3rd at 10 pm.
NHL: Flyers at Penguins
Penguins versus Flyers is still one of the best rivalries in hockey, regardless of where the teams sit in the standings. I think all hockey fans in Pennsylvania are a little disappointed in their teams at this point, as both the Flyers and the Penguins have potential to be one of the better teams but are kind of mediocre. But like we said, this is a great rivalry. These teams hate each other, so you can bet that the game will be very physical, and that’s just good hockey. Once again we want to see who the best team in PA is, and these teams are going to want to prove that as well. Watch this division rivalry Thursday, March 4th at 7 pm.
Premier League: Manchester United at Manchester City
It’s always a cool thing when the two big Manchester clubs are at the top of the Premier League table. Unfortunately, Manchester City is just so far ahead there really is no catching them. They’ve won like 20 games in a row or something ridiculous. So this one is more for pride, which is still a big deal to these Manchester fans. City may be running away with the title, but Manchester United will love the idea of putting a nice blemish on their incredible win streak. I sense that Man City will attack right off the back. Their at home and really have nothing to lose so they’ll want to crush United similar to how they crushed Liverpool a few weeks ago. United will play a bit slower and hope for an early counter to put the pressure on Man City. This game will either be a tight win for Manchester United, or a comfortable win for Manchester City. That’s my prediction at least. Check this rivalry matchup out on Sunday, March 7th at 11:30 am.
Netflix Movie of the Week: The Killers
The Killers is a nice little throwback action-romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. More importantly, it is also this week’s Netflix recommendation. You may remember Katherine Heigl from every rom com ever in the mid to late 2000s, before fading to oblivion as of late. I’m not really sure what happened but she was everywhere for a time. Anyway, this is a fun movie about a woman who unknowingly falls in love with a a contract killer. Pretty classic storyline from there. Contract killer walks away from his career to settle down and live the suburban marriage life, but his past of course comes back to haunt him and he has to keep himself and his wife alive while also making sure that they keep their marriage afloat. If you’re looking for some light-hearted comedy with a bit of action on the side, this is the one for you this weekend. Give it a go and let me know what you think!
