Entertainment of the Week: December 10th – 16th

NFL Game of the Week: Chargers at Chiefs
Personally, I’m very much looking forward to this contest between the 11-2 Chiefs and the 10-3 Chargers. Both Patrick Mahomes and Phillip Rivers are putting together MVP-caliber seasons, and this game could end up determining who wins the AFC West. To win this game the Chargers are going to need to put up some serious points, as both Chiefs losses have been high scoring affairs. A Chiefs win would most likely solidify themselves as the number 1 seed in the AFC. Tune in to Fox on Thursday, December 13th at 8:20.

NBA Game of the Week: Raptors at Clippers
The Clippers I feel have been flying under the radar over the past few weeks. Up until their current 2-game losing streak, the Clippers had been the number one team in the West. The inevitability of the Warriors regaining that number one spot, coupled with most of the Los Angeles focus being on Lebron and the Lakers, has led to some disrespect towards the Clippers. The Raptors retain the best record in the East, so look for the Clippers to rebound from their last 2 games to attempt to show the NBA world that they are a top team in the NBA. Tune in Tuesday, December 11th at 10:30.

NHL Game of the Week: Penguins at Blackhawks
Pittsburgh and Chicago have been two of the best teams in the NHL for the past decade. Between them they have won 6 of the last 10 Stanley Cups (3 each). While Chicago is off to a pretty terrible 2018-2019 campaign, I’d expect them to get up for a game like this and show that they still have a talented and capable roster, especially in front of their home crowd. Look for Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews to have big games. Look for Crosby to respond. Tune in to NBC Sports at 8:00 on Wednesday, December 12th.

Premier League Game of the Week: Manchester United at Liverpool
Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League, and are the only remaining unbeaten team. This unbeaten streak can be attributed to their stellar defense, having only given up 6 goals through 16 games. Manchester United on the other hand has continued to disappoint their fan base, and calls for Jose Mourinho to be sacked have only grown as the season progresses. However, to his credit, Mourinho has often produced his best performances against top teams. I’m excited to see how this game goes. Tune in Sunday, December 16th at 11:00 am.

Weekly Movie Recommendation: Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse
I’m going to be honest with you. I have no idea what this Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse movie is about. In my lifetime we’ve already had 3 Spiderman franchises, and now we’re adding a single movie with what seems like unlimited Spidey superheroes. It looks to be highly reviewed thus far though so it’s at least worth recognizing and recommending. If you see it this weekend, let me know if the hype is lived up to.
