NFL Game of the Week: Jaguars at Colts
This is an intriguing matchup for me. The AFC south is pretty close right now, and the Texans (6-3) have a tough matchup against the Ravens this week. So the 5-4 colts and the 4-5 Jaguars both have an opportunity to improve their chances of winning the division. The Colts actually beat the Texans earlier in the season, so a Colts win and Texans loss would put Indianapolis at the top of the AFC South. With Indy down to their 3rd string QB I really can see this game going either way. I expect a hard fought game regardless. It may not be too high scoring, but the intrigue and playoff implications are there.. Tune in Sunday at 1 pm for this matchup.
NBA Game of the Week: Clippers at Rockets
Well last week’s game of the week was a huge bust, since Kawhi sat out against the Bucks for load management. I blame the NBA for scheduling that game on the back end of a back to back. I’m giving Kawhi a chance to redeem my error by showing up and balling out against an exciting Rockets team. I haven’t seen too much of the Rockets yet but I haven’t heard a lot of drama coming from potential disaster of two completely ball dominant guards, Westbrook and Harden. I still would bet on team chemistry struggling by the end of the season, but only time will tell. This game could be interesting, because the Clippers are one of the better defensive teams, while Houston is always one of the high scoring teams in the NBA. Look for Beverly and Leonard to try and lock down Westbrook and Harden. Tune in Wednesday at 7:30 pm for this one on ESPN.
NHL Game of the Week: Avalanche at Oilers
In my opinion, these are two of the most fun to watch team in the NHL. Both are among the top teams in the West, and are just exploding with talent. Leon Draisatl is off to a red hot start and leads the NHL in points (34 in 19 games). His teammate, Connor McDavid, is without a doubt the most talented player in the NHL. The Edmonton offense is fluid and dangerous, there’s not doubt about that. Colorado can definitely keep the pace, though. Nathan McKinnon leads a talented attacking core. I’m hoping for a lot of goals here. Tune in Thursday, November 14th at 9 pm.
Premier League Game of the Week: None (Int’l Break)
Movie Recommendation: Ford v Ferrari
I’ve never been a big car guy but I’m definitely a big Matt Damon and Christian Bale fan. This movie takes us back to 1966 when car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and driver Ken Miles (Bale) built a revolutionary race car to challenge Ferrari at the 24 hours of Le Mans, the oldest race event for sports cars in the world. Damon and Bale are incredible actors and I’m very interested to see their chemistry in this movie. Check out Ford v Ferrari this weekend (opens November 15th) and let me know what you think!
