So there are plenty of ways to make a Margarita. However, there is only one way to make a true, classic Margarita. That’s the one we’re looking at today. No goofy flavors, no discount Jose Cuervo Margarita mix (don’t get me wrong that mix is actually decent if you’re lazy), no nonsense. Our Influential Gentleman Mixologist, Andrew, will die on the hill of this Margarita recipe.
-100% blue agave tequila
-Grand Marnier orange liqueur
Squeeze out a lime for some fresh lime juice. Andrew will find you and yell at you if you buy lime juice instead of fresh squeezing. Put some salt on a plate, take your glass of choice, put some lime juice on the rim and dip in salt. That’ll give you that perfect salt rim. Most people use water before dipping the salt but the lime juice gives it an extra little kick.
Next mix 3 parts tequila, 2 parts Grand Marnier, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice into a mixing glass. Stir, do not shake! “Shaking gets it a little frothy which is not the move for a marg,” Andrew. If you’re using a traditional margarita glass, use a few regular ice cubes. If you’re serving into a rocks glass, use one big cube (if you have it).
Pour in your mix and you’re good to go. Delicious and Influential Gentleman approved.
As always, enjoy and drink responsively.
